Driving while tired might be nearly as bad as driving under the influence according to a WFMY News report. The CBS affiliate looked into a study that comes from Virginia Tech and that shows that one of the most common reasons for accidents behind the wheel is fatigue. Their study claims that nearly 20% of crashes could be the result of fatigue, which is much higher than the previous estimate of between 2% and 3%. Drivers in Hampton Roads should be aware of this problem when they are getting behind the wheel.
