I am in this country illegally, but I got hurt on the job. Am I still entitled to workers compensation benefits?

Answer: Yes and No, in Virginia. You are entitled to medical benefits, and benefits if you are completely disabled from work, the same as an American citizen; however, if you are released with partial restrictions, such as light duty, you are not entitled to workers comp benefits. This is because voc rehab cannot find an illegal immigrant a job, legally. That being said, if you have a permanent partial impairment rating on a body part, you may be entitled to additional compensation.
