My compensation checks are coming late. What are my rights and what can I do about that?

Answer: Virginia Law requires the prompt payment of compensation to employees. If any installment of compensation is not paid within 14 days after it becomes due, we can ask the Commission add a 20% penalty on the employer to the unpaid check or checks, unless the employer has a very good excuse.
