The employee is entitled to be reimbursed for expenses incurred in meeting with and complying with the Vocational Rehabilitation Officer. This includes mileage costs to see the VCR for rehabilitation meetings and the mileage cost to attend interviews, obtain and return applications
Other reimbursable costs include the money needed for postage, photocopying, getting a DMV record or other appropriate record, telephone calls – if they are required by the VRC or by a potential employer.
If transportation itself is an issue, the VCR or carrier must make reasonable arrangements so that the employee can get to the meetings and to the interviews. This can include advancing mileage money or providing alternate reasonable transportation.
