Joe Miller Obtains Six Figure Settlement for Young Woman Who Injured Her Back at Work, After Employer Backs off of Threatened Hearing

2009, Elizabeth City, NC —We negotiated a six-figure settlement for the employee of a military subcontractor. She was in her 20s, and had to undergo four surgeries after injuring her back when lifting a box of tools at work. The employer initially denied the need for some of her surgeries, but after obtaining appropriate reports and opinions from her treating physicians, we were able to win a motion to force the employer to pay for her surgery. After threatening a hearing on the matter, we were also able to get the workers compensation carrier to agree to pay thousands of dollars in past unpaid medical expenses which they had initially denied.
