Joe Miller Obtains Substantial Settlement for 42- Year- Old Woman With a Back Strain
2009, Gates, NC—We finalized a substantial settlement for a 42-year old woman who was rated as having only a 2% permanent impairment rating of her back due to a back strain at work. Even though she only had a back strain, she had a functional capacity evaluation that rated her at sedentary. (Basically, a desk job) She had only done manual labor her entire life and would require additional schooling to be able to return to the work force, as per the employer’s own vocational assessment. Faced with the requirement that they would have to pay for schooling and continue to pay our client her compensation checks during that time, as well as during her subsequent job search, the employer opted to settle the case for a substantial sum.
