Joe Miller Obtains Substantial Six Figure Wrongful Death Settlement for Family of Homeless Man against Pizza Chain

2010, Chesapeake, Va. Joe Miller obtained a substantial settlement at mediation for the family of a homeless man who was killed while riding his bicycle, when he was hit by a pizza delivery driver. Along with our office, the police did a tremendous job of re-constructing the fact that the delivery driver hit a sign and then ran into our client, causing him fatal injuries. He had been riding his bike in the proper space next to the road. Despite being ‘down on his luck,’ and separated from his wife, we were able to show that the deceased had been a hard-working man most of his life who was just beginning to turn things around when he was cut down. His surviving son, who was a minor at the time of the deceased’s death, received most of the settlement funds.
