An owner of a pack of pit bulls might be charged after his pets wounded three people, including the owner himself, in the span of two days, 10 On Your Side reported.
On Tuesday, August 19, a Norfolk man was near his house on Wedgefield Avenue when he saw a pack of seven pit bulls chasing a smaller dog. The owner tried to restrain them, but the dogs quickly turned on him before attacking Manuel Lopez, a passerby trying to help defuse the situation.
The next day, as the owner of the pit bulls voluntarily turned over his pets to the Animal Control Center on Saber road, one of the dogs escaped and charged an animal control officer while she attempted to restrain it. The officer was rushed to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries to the leg and face.
