Asbestos is a natural, but dangerous mineral product that was commonly used in many industries until the late 1970’s due to its properties of being resistant to heat and corrosion. Unfortunately, although heavily regulated, it is still not banned in the U.S., even though studies have shown that there are no safe levels of exposure to asbestos.
