Joe Miller Obtains Substantial Wrongful Death Settlement for Family of North Carolina Child Drowning Victim

2005, Dare County, NC. We negotiated at mediation a substantial wrongful death settlement in the tragic case of a North Carolina family whose eight-year-old son drowned while the lifeguard was being inattentive at an Outer Banks beach. We sued the lifeguard company and obtained a substantial settlement for the family. Our usual preparation of a settlement video, depicting interviews with family members, combined with telling video excerpts of the video deposition testimony of the lifeguard and her boss were factors in obtaining a good recovery for the family at mediation.
